Justice, Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion

We operate in an open, equal opportunity environment. We know diversity and inclusion lead to creativity and innovation. We’re committed to inspiring positive social impact by supporting diversity in all facets, both internally and externally. Here’s a look at what we’re doing.

OUR PEOPLE

  • Our Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Culture Hub supports our people to stretch themselves to learn, stay open-minded and lead with inquiry. The JEDI team provides key educational sessions, challenges, book groups, and events to increase awareness and take action.
  • Support JEDI movements, such as Pride, Earth Day, International Women’s Day, Time to Vote, Black Lives Matter, Don’t Ban Equality
  • Celebrate international holidays and cultural diversity such as Diwali and Chinese New Year.
  • Monitoring and measuring diversity metrics of both internal staff and freelancers (includes race, ethnicities, ages, backgrounds, locations, languages, gender, etc).
  • Verified neutral language (in job descriptions and ads).
  • Strategic approach to posting job ads on platforms that reach for a diverse pool of candidates.
  • Use of recruitment process platform to be able to anonymize and filter applications to reduce unconscious bias

Our 2023/2024 impact:

  • Implemented new scoring guidelines for clients & prospects working in controversial industries. We stopped working with two clients who were misaligned.
  • Hosted internal education sessions around Microaggressions vs Banter, The Culture Map, Migrant Awareness, and International Women’s Day.
  • Joined political advocacy educational fly-in calls with Colorado Senator John Hickenlooper & Representative Diana DeGette’s offices. We discussed concerns over proposed anti-ESG & anti- DEI legislation on companies who are trying to use business as a force for good.

Our People

By the very nature of our business and who we are as a company, we welcome and celebrate diversity of all kinds. We respect all perspectives. We encourage our people to express themselves and bring their whole selves to work.

Driving Social Impact through Diversity

We are also committed to partnering with low-income and underrepresented minorities around the world.

Here’s how our diversity has made a positive social impact:

  • Almost 52% of our international freelance resources live in low-income communities. That, combined with our fair-trade translation and equal pay approach, supports our commitment to helping alleviate global poverty.
  • 97% of our in-country resources are individual freelancers or very small companies under 10 people.
  • We have an average tenure of 7.03 years within our in-country resource network. Over 52% of our in-country resources have worked with us for 5+ years, and 26% have worked with us more than 10 years. This supports our aim to build lasting relationships with our in-country resources, which in turn supports a healthy working environment for our staff and a higher quality outcome for our clients.
  • We pay on average +3-5% above standard industry rates for our in-country network.

Local Commitment

Supporting other independently owned, local businesses is part of our best practice. We prioritize working with companies who are within 50 miles of our office, are women- or minority-owned, certified B Corps, businesses who are environmentally friendly, sustainable, organic, non-GMO, and fair-trade. To support these efforts, we’ve put local purchasing guidelines into place and made a commitment to evaluating our supply network.
